In the absence of desired results along the line of what you have tried,
did you check into the App store for products (some free, some have a
required in-app purchase to upgrade) for Gold, Silver, etc prices?
Some examples in the App Store (for iDevices) include:

These may not reflect those precious metals Stock price, just the market
trading prices in selected world trading center Spot Price instead. For
speculative metal stock trading, market is different than actual metal price
where one would buy and hold metal, instead of mining company stocks.
Anyway, you may have to check into the developers section or site to see
if someone knows how to add what you're trying; the iOS may have changed
to not allow the method you are trying. The Codes could have changed, since
several years ago, to reflect those metal price results. Or you may have to
enter them into the application differently now.

been able to make the old method work now in the iOS; it used to work back
in 2008 or so. Not sure why it doesn't now.
